Mollymook Men
This week the Mollymook Spring Carnival is underway; last minute entries are still possible for the Ladies Triples (tomorrow 19th), Mens Triples on Friday & Saturday Mixed Pairs. Other good news is that two or our hospitalised bowlers have been moved closer to home, Bob to Milton hospital & Col to Nowra.
The quarterfinal of the Dave Tucker Minor Singles resulted in a 31/30 win over Dan Prestage by Mike Keegan by way of a 3 on the last end. Also close was a 31/29 win to Chris Machon with Darcy Nelson keeping him "all but" for five ends. Terry Hill ran out a 31/18 winner against Mike Lynn, both bowlers played nice shots at times & finally Dave Harrison & Jon Venn entertained the Roadrunners with a 38 ends battle that narrowly favoured Harro, final score 31/27.
SOCIAL. Visitors Bruce Whitby (Narranderra) & Ben Ireland with Clayton King from Milton-Ulladulla all had fun; indeed Ben & Clayton with Paul Barnes overcame Dave Bradshaw, John Bisset & Mark Sommerville 27/23. Lucky rink winners however were Kerry Jones, Brandley & Graham Corby who narrowly (22/21) defeated Andy Jarvis, Chris Machon & Robin Oke with Kerry's last bowl of the day. Lucky losers were Bob Rusk, Mike Hayes & Krusty. Amidst the social play Jon Venn in a catchup match of the Minor Singles def. John Sferriff 31/18. Friday's Open Pairs: Roy Booth & Graham Smith were in line for the $1040 jackpot, but again the computer was unkind. The $120 prize went to Kerry Jones & Mark Sommerville with a score of 9 shots on the five random ends, playing against Nola W/N & Terry Hill. Marks H.B SHOUT went to Dave Henry & Ted Fraser for a 6 on their power play end.
